Chimebird ("we", "our", or "us") is developed by Summer Mint Ltd. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our iOS and watchOS application.

Data Collection

We do not collect any personal data. Chimebird is designed with privacy as a core principle:

  • All chime settings and preferences are stored locally on your device
  • Configuration syncs between iPhone and Apple Watch via your personal iCloud account
  • We have no access to your iCloud data
  • We do not use any third-party analytics or tracking services
  • We do not collect crash reports automatically
  • Sound files are bundled in the app and played locally — no network requests are made for audio

Data Storage

Your chime configuration is stored in the following locations:

  • Local Storage: Settings are stored in App Group UserDefaults on your device
  • iCloud (Automatic): Configuration syncs to your Apple Watch via WatchConnectivity through your personal iCloud account

Notifications

Chimebird uses local notifications to deliver chime sounds. These notifications are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device. No notification data is sent to our servers.

We operate a lightweight push service solely to clean up delivered notifications from your lock screen. These silent pushes contain no personal data.

Third-Party Services

Chimebird uses the following Apple services:

  • iCloud: For syncing chime settings between iPhone and Apple Watch
  • StoreKit: For processing subscriptions and purchases through the App Store
  • APNs: For silent push notifications that clean delivered banners

These services are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Permissions

Chimebird requires the following permissions to function:

  • Notifications: To deliver chime sounds at scheduled times
  • Background App Refresh: To maintain chime schedules and clean up delivered notifications

These permissions are used solely for the chime functionality. We do not access your contacts, location, photos, or any other personal data.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
